About the company

Cartonesa, which began with a staff of 38 employees, now has 175 employees working in Central America, the Caribbean and part of Mexico. The company produces close to 2 million square meters of corrugated boards monthly, which includes cardboard, a product for which they are regional leaders.

“We recently started using ePS solutions, but we have already noticed the difference that these solutions will make in our business results”, said Cartonesa’s Strategic Analyst, Roberto Magaña. The corrugated packaging company from El Salvador obtained the CorrTrim, InterLink and Report Manager modules from ePS, part of the Corrugated Suite, a complete solution for the corrugated industry.

Located north of San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, the Cartonesa company began operations in 2001. “It was difficult at first. We had few employees and our facilities and machinery were not adequate to execute the processes, but we got by”, said Roberto. 

In 2012, operations were relocated to a modern and spacious plant strategically located on the highway leading to the western part of the country. With an administration prepared to invest in machinery and software, the Cartonesa executives decided to obtain technology that would satisfy the company’s growing demands without increasing costs.

After investigating and analyzing different proposals, Cartonesa Management Board chose the CorrTrim module of the Corrugated Suite.

“From all the offers we received, this software caught our attention the most, because its vast capabilities could satisfy all of our needs.

The solution increases the corrugator’s capacity, enhances the continuity of the processes and adapts rapidly to client changes, thus reducing costs. In addition to these advantages, we can count on the efficiency of the ePS technical support team in our native language”, said Roberto.

The solution also allows for real-time monitoring of the results of each run. “Accessing reports is also very important, since we can also show the executives and management board which process has been performed.”
